NordicTrack AudioStrider 800 Elliptical

Product Type: Elliptical Trainers
Brand: NordicTrack
Description:

The AudioStrider 800 has been introducedby NordicTrack for 2007.  As an elliptical trainer it has the standard features that we have come to expect in our home exercise equipment.

Standard features include:

  • Ability to fold for easy storage.
  • Heart rate monitor built into the hand grips.
  • 8 pre-programmed workout routines.
  •  East to read electronic display.

What really puts the Audio into the AudioStrider is the built in speaker system that allows you to connect your personal MP3 player.  This may seem trivial but if you are folding this up and putting it away when you are done with it then also having to pack away a pair of speakers is one more thing to deal with.  However - it may not be worth an extra $100.

The iFit technology has also been improved for this unit. You can order workout routines developed by Certified Personal Trainers. The workouts come on what looks like an SD Memory card for a digital camera. The voice of the trainer can be through the built in speakers.

Very disappointed!!! Breaks every 6 weeks. Meant to be a coat hanger/rack...The part that keeps breaking is the upper body leg, weld snaps right in half. Now the roller wheels on the ramp are cracking and breaking, need replacing. Not worth my time to keep buying parts and fixing more than working out. Stay away from this product if possible. You have been warned. Sure the customer service has been great but they will try to get you to buy their extended warranty all the time. You will have to buy the warranty in order to keep fixing this piece of equipment. The parts are very expensive. I definitely do not recommend!!!!

I bought this machine from Sears in early 2008 I believe. It was been AWESOME! I only now am replacing the first wheel which broke. They are expensive, however, and I have found afew after market options that are slightly cheaper. I also finally just ordered a plug for it on ebay....have been using D batteries all this time!...they don't last long if you run the ipod through the speakers. ANyway....with winter coming, trying to get it back to function as I'm sick of walking 3 miles in the rain these days! It has been good to me and I hope to keep maintaining it to last for a long while. Great workout! I usually do 2 of the 1/2 hr workouts and spend an hour on it at a time. From Dec-Mar or so I use it almost every day until things warm up outside and I hit the street again.
